    The Regionally Famous Clifford Swamp Ambrosia Maple

    Famous in at least three townships and one feed store. Ambrosia maple is soft maple with dark, wandering streaks left behind by a tiny beetle and the fungus it farms. Every board comes with its own pinstripes, and no two are alike.

    The straight facts: it's soft maple, sold green (fresh off the saw), rough-sawn, and ungraded. Sold as-is, by the piece. Air-dry it yourself before you build.

    Everything comes off the mill green and rough-sawn: fresh, honest, and ready for you to stack, sticker, and air-dry at your own pace.

    About the mill

    Small mill. Big logs. Bad puns.

    Wansedel Timber Werks is a small, owner-run sawmill in Clifford, Michigan. We turn local logs into slabs and boards for woodworkers, builders, and anybody who's ever looked at a tree and thought, "that'd make a heck of a table."

    We keep it simple: honest descriptions, the price on the tag, and the flaws pointed out up front. If a board has a check, a knot, or a bark seam, we'll tell you before you drive out. We'd rather lose a sale than lose your trust. (We'd also rather not lose either.)
